JSON is strict about quotes, commas, brackets, and value types. Formatting makes nested data easier to inspect, while validation tells you whether the text parses as JSON; it does not confirm that the data meets an application's schema.
Find and fix JSON syntax errors
Start with the exact payload that failed. Common mistakes include trailing commas, single quotes around strings, unquoted property names, and comments, none of which are valid in standard JSON.
- Paste the JSON into the formatter.
- Run validation and read the reported error location.
- Correct the syntax near that location and validate again.
- Copy the formatted result into your project or request.
Keep in mind: Do not paste credentials, access tokens, or private customer data into a tool unless you have confirmed its data-handling policy.
