What is PDF metadata?

PDF metadata is extra information stored in a document, such as the author, creator, software used, creation date, and other details. This information may reveal personal or sensitive details when you share a file.

KitQuvo lets you inspect common PDF document properties first, then remove the document information dictionary, embedded XMP metadata, and document ID. File processing takes place in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

This tool removes the standard PDF document information dictionary, embedded XMP metadata, and the document ID. Metadata inside page content, annotations, or attachments is not removed.
No. Your files are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to a server.
The tool rewrites the PDF while preserving its pages. It removes document-level metadata, but does not redact visible text or other content embedded in pages. Rewriting a signed PDF can invalidate its digital signatures. Keep your original files as a backup.
